Located to the north of Capital Gymnasium and known as the “ice altar”, Capital Gymnasium Short Track Speed Skating Training Hall serve as both a training hall and a comprehensive base for Team China’s living and training. Viewed from above, the building resembles the section of a curling ball, while it looks like stripes of scratches on ice when viewed from all sides, winning it the name of “ice altar”. The building is among the first projects in China to adapt the ice-making technology of carbon dioxide direct cooling. After 2022 Winter Olympics, the gymnasium will be open to the public to promote ice & snow sports among children and teenagers, contributing to the development of ice & snow sports in China.
