As a complex cultural center, it contains a cultural hall, a theater, the youth and women activities center, a library, an archive and an athletic training stadium. Contributed by Beijing, it is an aiding project for the quake-afflicted city – Shifang. Several individual volumes collaborate together to form an integrated interface for urban street, while the inner spaces are open and complicated by the interweaving and integration of building masses. Used on the outer skins of the buildings, the yellow color implies the local identity of the project, and the grey color, which is considered as the symbol of Beijing.
