Consisting of a stadium, a gymnasium and a natatorium, the Ordos Sports Center has a form that is both twisted and continuous with its huge columns irregularly arrayed, presenting the dynamic image of Mongolian wrestling. The design of the stadium entrance, with a super-large skylight overhead, was inspired by the features of traditional Mongolian yurt. Dominated by dark and light green colors, the grandstand seems like the extension of the lawn, while viewing platforms of various heights resemble the ribbons on the wrestler’s clothes.
